A six-year veteran, Purdy was signed by the MLS Timbers on Jan. 26, 2011. He appeared in an MLS career-high eight matches in 2011, and was in the Starting XI for the Timbers first MLS match on March 19, 2011. Purdy started his professional career with Germany’s TSV 1860 Munich in 2007 after a standout collegiate career.

2012: Played 90 minutes against the San Jose Reserves on Aug. 26 ... Called up by the El Salvador National Team for a pair of friendlies in early August ... Started in a 1-0 win over Guatemala at The Home Depot Center on Aug. 11 ... Featured in a 2-0 loss to Timbers teammate Lovel Palmer and the Jamaica National Team on Aug. 15 at RFK Stadium ... Played 90 minutes in an international exhibition against English club Aston Villa on July 24 ... Started and played 90 minutes in a MLS Reserve League match June 18 against Chivas USA ... Started and played 78 minutes against Sporting KC on April 21 ... Was subbed off due to an injury ... Made his first start of the season on April 14 against the LA Galaxy ... Was an unused substitute on April 7 against Chivas USA and March 31 against Real Salt Lake ... Started and played 90 minutes in each of the team's first two MLS Reserve League games (March 27, April 10) ... Captained the side on April 10 against Seattle and added an assist in the 2-0 win.

2011: Made an MLS career-high eight appearances (all starts) for the Timbers ... Saw 90 minutes at right back in each of the Timbers’ first six regular-season matches ... Featured in both of the club’s U.S. Open Cup play-in matches - a 2-0 win over Chivas USA on March 29 and a 1-0 extra time loss to San Jose May 3 ... Started all five of his appearances for the Timbers Reserves ... Recorded a game-winning assist in a 3-2 win over Vancouver in MLS Reserve League play Aug. 21 ... Played a full 90 at center back in a 2-0 exhibition win over Argentina’s Independiente July 26.

2010: A versatile member of the Portland backline in 2010 ... Helped the Timbers rank second among the USSF Division-2 Pro League leaders in fewest goals allowed (23) and among the league’s best in shutouts (13) ... Played in 24 regular-season games, logging 1,536 minutes ... Started and played 90 minutes in both of the team’s first-round playoff matches against the Vancouver Whitecaps ... Start­ed exhibition matches against Costa Rican side Puntarenas FC and English Premier League club Manchester City.

2009: Returned to the United States to join FC Dallas ... Played in five games with the first team and totaled 338 minutes ... Injuries limited his time on the field.

2007-08: Played in 25 matches for TSV 1860 Munich’s reserve team ... Played a role in six clean sheets.

2006-07: Signed with TSV 1860 Munich of Germany’s 2.Bundesliga (second division) in Jan. 2007 and played one match ... Made his team and professional debut with TSV 1860 Munich’s reserve team on May 18, 2007, against SV Wehen Wiesbaden ... Was selected fifth overall in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft by the LA Galaxy, but opted to begin his career in Europe.

INTERNATIONAL: With family ties to El Salvador, was called in to camp with the El Salvador National Team for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup ... Earned his first senior cap with a start for El Salvador in the quarterfinals of the tournament in a penalty-kick loss to Panama June 19 ... Scored his first international goal in his second appearance for El Salvador, contributing to a 4-0 win over the Cayman Islands on Oct. 11, 2011, in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match ... Represented the United States at multiple levels, includ­ing U-18, U-20 and U-23 ... In 2007, was called into his first senior U.S. National Team camp for a match against Switzerland on Oct. 17, but did not play ... Was among the player pool for the U.S. U-23 National Team in 2008 ... In 2004 with the U-20s, helped the team to a third-place finish in the Busan (Korea) Four-Nations International Tournament.

COLLEGE: Was a four-time All-Pac-10 selection at the University of California-Berkeley, including a first-team nod as a senior ... Started 80 of his 82 career appear­ances with the Golden Bears, recording seven goals and six assists ... As a senior in 2006, led Cal to its first-ever Pac-10 championship and to the third round of the NCAA tournament ... Honored with the Bob DiGrazia Award as Cal’s MVP following the season and earned second-team All-America honors by College Soccer News and NSCAA ... Tabbed an All-Pac-10 second-team selection as a junior and received honorable mention honors after his freshman and sophomore seasons.
