PORTLAND, Ore. – In the 100th all-time meeting between the two clubs, the Portland Timbers emerged the 1-0 victors over Seattle Sounders FC in front of a sold out crowd Sunday at Providence Park. Timbers midfielder Sebastián Blanco scored the game-winner in the 86th minute when he deftly chipped Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei to send the home crowd into celebration.
The win also marked Portland's fourth in a row while Timbers goalkeeper Jeff Attinella and the Portland defense earned their third clean sheet in a row.

38' - CHANCE (POR) - Diego Valeri, receiving the ball back from his own corner, slid the ball to Blanco near the top of the 18-yard box. Blanco cut inside before taking a left-footed shot that went just over the crossbar.
39' - CHANCE (POR) - Moments later, Cristhian Paredes won the ball at midfield, dribbled through Seattle defenders before flaring the ball out wide to Valeri. Valeri's return pass into the mixer was inches beyond the outstretched leg of Paredes on the doorstep.

68' - CHANCE (POR) - Defender Zarek Valentin, receiving the ball on the left, found an open Andy Polo on the edge of the box. His curled, right-footed shot forced a diving save from Seattle 'keeper Stefan Frei.
86' - GOAL (POR) - Portland, patient all game in attack, were finally rewarded in the 86th minute when forward and second half substitution Samuel Armenteros deftly turned and sprung Blanco past the backline with a perfect throughball. Blanco, in 1v1 with Frei, calmly chipped the ball into the bottom left corner for a 1-0 Timbers lead.
