The Portland Timbers through Stand Together will foster these three key programs and focus areas in 2025.

Everybody Plays: Programs that build a supportive culture of play and sportsmanship in our communities.

Rose City Readers: An elementary school assembly program, magnifying the importance of literacy.

Tix For Kids: Making Timbers matches accessible to local families through ticket donations.

Everybody Plays

The Timbers strive to make soccer accessible and inclusive for everyone throughout Oregon and SW Washington. Everybody Plays programs stress the importance of physical fitness, while building a supportive culture of play and sportsmanship. The goal: continue to grow the game and use it as a vehicle for positive change in local communities.

Everybody Plays Initiatives

Camps for All – In partnership with PTFC Camps, Stand Together will play host to a series of camps and offer a series of scholarships for youth to participate in PTFC Camps programs.

Starting XI – Through the Starting XI initiative, Stand Together will partner with 11 elementary schools to provide local youth opportunities to participate in Timbers matchday activities at Providence Park.

Field Development & Refurbishment – In effort to share the world’s game and promote active lifestyles, the Timbers collaborate with community partners to refurbish local fields and supports field-related projects in and around Portland.

Equipped To Play – To help make soccer accessible to everyone, Equipped To Play will supply the community with equipment through annual gear giveaways and/or exchanges.

Rose City Readers

Rose City Readers harnesses the power of sport to magnify the importance of literacy and motivate students at local schools.

Led by club mascot Timber Joey, the program features Joey’s own personal story of being unable to read at a young age. Rose City Readers provides both assembly and individual classroom programming for K-3 students and often includes a visit from a Timbers player.

Since 2014, Rose City Readers visits on average 25 schools per year, reaching 2,600 local youth. To help level the playing field, Stand Together prioritizes schools with reportedly low reading test scores.

Tix for Kids

In a continued effort to provide access to soccer for everyone, Tix for Kids provides Timbers tickets to youth and families thanks to the support of club partners.

How it works:

– Donated tickets are provided to local nonprofits or school groups for matches throughout the season.

– Tix For Kids provides access for nonprofit organizations to attend the Timbers’ cultural theme nights – Hispanic Heritage, Juneteenth, Pride, AAPI, Native American Heritage, and more – at Providence Park.
