Timbers announce roster status ahead of 2025 season

ACQUIRED: On July 17, 2022 via full transfer from Colombia's Categoría Primera A side Independiente Medellín – he occupies an international and U22 Initiative roster slot. On February 13, 2024 the Timbers extended Juan Mosquera through 2027 with a club option in 2028.
2024: Named to MLS Team of the Matchday 29 after scoring his first goal of 2024, a game-winner, against Seattle on Aug. 31... Only player to have started every match this season... Recorded an assist against LAFC on April 13... Tallied the game-tying assist on March 9 against NYC... Started in the club’s first match of the season, helping the team to a 4-1 win against Colorado and tallying an assist
2023: Recorded an assist in a third straight match against SEA on Sept. 2...Tallied an assist in a second straight match against RSL on Aug. 30... Registered an assist against Vancouver on Aug. 26... Recorded a goal and an assist against Seattle on April 15... Tallied his first career MLS assist on March 4 against LAFC... Scored Portland’s first goal of the season and his first goal with the club against Kansas City on Feb. 27.
2022: Made his MLS career debut on Sept. 18 against Columbus Crew SC on the road... Logged 18 minutes... Started and played 90 minutes in Portland’s final two matches of the season.
CAREER: In CONMEBOL he has featured in Copa Colombia, Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores tournaments. Most recently in early 2022, the defender started in seven of eight appearances, including five 90-minute performances, for Independiente Medellín in Copa Sudamericana. Additionally, Mosquera started in a 2-1 win against Tigres FC in Copa Colombia on May 5, 2022.
INTERNATIONAL: Was called into the 2022 and 2023 senior Colombian National Team, earning his first cap on Jan. 29, 2023 in a friendly match... As a youth international, Mosquera appeared with the Colombia U-17 Men’s National Team at the 2019 South American U-17 Championship in Lima, Peru and has also been named to the roster of Colombia’s U-20 training camps... He has two caps with Colombia’s U-17 team.
